Cleario Privacy Policy

Cleario ("we", "our", "us") operates the Cleario mobile application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, retention, and deletion of personal data when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

• Account Information: Email address or mobile number (for login/registration via OTP).
• Health Profile: Allergens, dietary preferences (vegan, vegetarian), health conditions, and health goals you voluntarily provide to personalize scan results.
• Product Scans: Photos of product ingredient labels you scan. These images are stored to provide scan history and cupboard features.
• Device Information: Device ID for guest scan tracking.
• Location: IP-based location (country/region) to auto-detect language preferences. We do not use GPS.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To analyze product ingredients and provide personalized health scores.
• To match ingredients against your allergen and dietary preferences.
• To provide scan history and cupboard tracking features.
• To send OTP codes for authentication.
• To auto-detect your preferred language.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• OpenAI: Product images are sent to OpenAI's API for ingredient analysis. Images are processed per OpenAI's data usage policies and are not used to train their models.
• Resend: Email addresses are shared with Resend for sending OTP emails.
• Railway: Data is stored on Railway's infrastructure (database and object storage).

4. Data Retention

We retain your data as follows:

• Account data: Retained until you delete your account.
• Scan history & images: Retained until you delete individual scans or your account.
• Health preferences: Retained until you modify them or delete your account.
• OTP codes: Automatically expire after 5 minutes.
• Guest scan data: Retained indefinitely but is not linked to any personal identity.

5. Data Deletion

You can delete your data in the following ways:

• Delete individual scans: Swipe or tap delete on any scan in the app.
• Delete your account: Go to Settings > Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, all scan history, saved cupboard items, preferences, and associated images.
• Contact us: Email noreply@clearioapp.com to request complete data deletion.

Upon account deletion, all personal data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), token-based authentication, and secure cloud infrastructure to protect your data.

7. Children's Privacy

Cleario is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by updating the "Last updated" date.
